The Maryland Flames Elite U15 team completed a very successfull 2008 AAU season by finishing second and earning the Silver Medal at the U15 National AAU tournament that was held in Kings Island, Ohio in July. The Flames won 9 straight games to earn a spot in the national championship game, where they were defeated by the Memphis Elite 68-54.The Flames led the tournament in scoring, averaging over 80 points a game, including topping 90 points three times.They defeated teams that finished third, fourth, fifth and seventh overall en route to the championship game. The Flames made 110 three pointers in ten games and established themselves as one of the best shooting teams in the country.
In addition to making a great run at Nationals, the Flames finished third out of 64 teams in the top division at the USA Invitational Blue Chip tournament that was held at Penn State University. At the conclusion of July, the Flames participated in the U17 division at the United States Junior National Tournament in Washington DC. The Flames played very well finishing 3-3, including playing one of the nations top overall teams, the BooWilliams Elite, to a thrilling 2 point loss at the Comcast Center.
This Spring the Flames won the Potomac Valley Gold Medal and earned a #5 seed at the U15 AAU National Tournament. The Flames finished undefeated in the Regional District Qualifying Tournament winning their pool by an average of 30 points a game, including beating the Fairfax Stars who finished 5th in the country last year by 17 points. In the medal round, the Flames defeated the 2006 National Champions, the MD Lady Majic, by 12 points and in the championship game, beat the Stars for the 3rd time this season in overtime. The Flames averaged 78 points in their six wins, including an average of nine 3 pointers made per game.

from the Flint Hill School. All of these players have enjoyed outstanding high school careers to date, including numerous championships and All-League awards, with much more to follow. In addition, all these players are being recruited by colleges throughout the country.
